Indian Wind Atlas released

Dr. Farooq Abdulla, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy released India Wind Atlas on 29th April 2010. The Atlas has been prepared by CWET, Chennai in association with Riso-DTU, Denmark.
 

BHEL plans to re-enter wind turbine manufacturing business

It is learnt that Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd. (BHEL) is planning to join hands with a foreign technology partner to  re-enter wind turbine manufacturing  at its existing plant at Ranipet in Tamil Nadu.  BHEL used to manufacture 250 kW wind turbine generators earlier. 

The unit’s existing fabrication facility will be used to manufacture towers and nacelles,  while it  is likely to take another two years to set up a wind blade manufacturing facility near the existing unit in Ranipet. BHEL  is likely to invest around Rs 50 Crore for the re-entry.   

NLC to invest Rs. 325 Cr. In Wind Power

Neyveli Lignite Corporation, a central public sector utility plans to invest Rs. 325 Cr. In setting up a 50 MW wind power project.     .

WBERC’s revised tariff draft for RE

The West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission has coper unit. me-up with a draft of revised tariff for renewable energy in the state. According to the draft, tariff for wind  power has been proposed at Rs. 4.87 per unit and solar  power at Rs. 16.13 per unit.

Hybrid Solar-wind power plants on roof top in Ahmedabad

Gujarat Energy Development Authority is installing hybrid solar-wind power plants atop 13 secretariat buildings in Gandhinagar which provide 10 and 20 kW of power to meet the energy requirement of  hundreds of  tubelights, fans and calling bells. The state government has earmarked Rs. 19 Crore for hybrid power electrification of Gandhinagar city

Global venture capital and private equity companies will invest up to $1 billion by the end of current fiscal in high growth, incentive-driven renewable energy companies, according to industry estimates.

The sector has received nearly $200 million from fund houses over the past six months compared with $175 million in 2009.

SJVNL to enter power trading, wind and solar space

Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. Is exploring the possibility of setting up wind and solar power projects. The company’s board has given its in-principle approval to set up a 50 MW wind power project. Nigam is looking for a consultant to identify the location and prepare DPR for the project. Nigam also plans to get into the power trading business.

MNRE’s modified scheme for small wind  and hybrid systems

Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has issued modified scheme on 16 April 2010 for the program on small wind energy and hybrid system (SWES) during 2010-11 and 2011-12.  

J&K SERC issues tariff orders for RE

J&K SERC has adopted tariff orders of CERC for Renewable Energy projects commissioned up to 31 March 2013 as per their tariff order no. J&K SERC/08 of 2010 issued on 02-06-2010.
